Who We Are
Dead is Dead is a post-metal band from Milwaukee that has built more pedalboards than they've released albums. But when they do put something out, it's deliberate, heavy, and made to last.
Formed by guitarist Eric Madl and brothers Nick and Mark Sheppard (bass and drums), Dead is Dead creates patient, dynamic songs that blend the weight of doom with the atmosphere of post-rock. Their 2017 full-length, Constraints of Time (Triple Eye Industries), marked a high point in their slow-burning approach.
Since then, the band has taken time to regroup, experiment, and write—emerging in 2025 with a renewed focus and new material on the way.
